Candi Prambanan
Candi Prambanan is the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia which was built in the 9th century AD. This temple is dedicated to Trimurti, the three main Hindu gods, namely Brahma as the creator god, Vishnu as the guardian god, and Shiva as the god of destruction. Based on the Prasati Siwagrha, the original name of this temple complex is Siwagrha (Sanskrit meaning 'House of Shiva'), and indeed in the garbagriha (main room) this temple resides a three-metre high statue of Shiva Mahadewa which shows that in this temple the god Shiva is preferred.
This temple complex is located in the Prambana sub-district Bokoharjo Village, Sleman, Special Region of Jogjakarta and Prambanan sub-district, Klaten, Central Java approximately 17 kilometres northeast of Jogjakarta, 50 kilometres southwest of Surakarta and 120 kilometres south of Semaranag, right on the border between the province of Central Java and the Special Region of Jogjakarta. The location is very unique, Prambanan Temple is located in the administrative area of Bokoharjo village, Prambanan, Sleman, while the entrance to the Prambanan Temple complex is located in the administrative area of Tlogo village,
